How To Find Your Fashion Styles:
Different Fashion Styles
Creating your "uniform" or unique signature style can be easily determined by reading the following categories. Not saying it's important to categorize yourself, however, pay attention to which category speaks to you the most.
This will help determine your go colors, styles, and overall look to create your signature style and "uniform."
Romantic
A romantic fashion style can be a great option for women who want to exude a softer, more feminine look. This style is all about pretty details, ruffles, and soft colors. To pull off this look, start with some tailored pieces in neutral colors. Then, add in some romantic touches like ruffles or lace accents. Many romantic-style looks are not complete without some soft, feminine accessories.

Classic
Classy fashion is often thought of as something that is constantly changing and evolving. However, there are certain styles that have stood the test of time and become classics. This type of fashion is simple, refined, and a little restrained. It is the kind of style that can be worn for many seasons and will never go out of fashion.
If you are looking for a timeless look, then classic fashion is the way to go.
You can create a classic wardrobe by incorporating a few key pieces into your everyday style. A simple black dress, tweed jacket, cashmere pullover, white button-down shirt, and a classy blazer are all great examples of pieces that never go out of style. With these staple items in your closet, you will be able to create endless looks that are both fashionable and timeless.
So, next time you are feeling uninspired by your wardrobe, consider reaching for some classic pieces to help you create a chic and timeless look.

Casual
A casual fashion style can be a great way to stay comfortable and relaxed, while still looking put together. Jeans and a white t-shirt are a classic casual look, but skirts can also be incorporated into a casual wardrobe. When putting together a casual outfit, comfort is key – choose clothing that you feel good in and won’t be uncomfortable all day.
Keep your look simple and don’t overdo it with accessories; a few key pieces can really elevate a casual outfit. With a little effort, you can put together a great casual look that will have you feeling confident and stylish all day long.

Artsy
Artsy fashion style is all about being bold and different. It's a way to express your personality and style and to stand out from the rest. If you're looking for something unique and eye-catching, then artsy fashion is definitely for you.
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to artsy fashion, so feel free to experiment with different colors, prints, and silhouettes. The most important thing is to have fun with it and express your own individual style.

Eclectic
This type of style is often created by combining items from different periods and styles. The colors, textures, shapes, and accessories are usually tied together to create a unique look. Often, a few neutral colors are used to ground the look.
Layering different pieces is also a key component of this style. The goal is to create a look that is both unique and stylish.
There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to creating an eclectic fashion style. However, there are a few guidelines that can help you get started. First, start with a base of neutral colors. Black, white, and gray are all good options. Then, add in pops of color with different pieces. Try to mix and match different textures and materials as well. Finally, don't be afraid to experiment with different layering techniques.
One of the best things about an eclectic fashion style is that it can be adapted to suit any outfit. Whether you're dressing for a casual day or a more formal occasion, there's an eclectic look that will work for you. With a little bit of creativity and experimentation, you can easily create your own unique style.

Fashion Styles quiz
Taking a style quiz is another great way to determine which fashion styles fits you best. I used to love doing these with the Seventeen magazine articles growing up.
This one is great from Tabitha Dumas. It takes a few minutes to complete, but in the end gives you your style category.
After taking the style quiz I learned that I have a "Pure Natural" style which is so true for me. I have a casual lifestyle and love more relaxed, flowy pieces - think linen, cardigans, layers, and simple everyday pieces that I can mix and match.
Let me know what your style quiz says below.
* Please take away only what feels right to you. If you're not happy with the answer, don't take it.
The Do's & Don'ts in Fashion Styles
Do go through your closet and toss/donate the items that no longer fit or speak to you. Be honest with yourself. Has this piece of clothing been worn in the last week or month? Does it fit me well or am I still telling myself I'll loose 10 pounds to wear it again?
Give yourself some tough love during this time and trust the process.
If you find that you truly cannot part ways with something, put it in a box or away from your closet for the time being.
Do create your favorite outfits that are currently in your closet. This makes it so much easier to get ready in the morning when you have your favorite outfits together - I'm talking about everything from the jewelry all the way down to the shoes! Create your uniform.
Do invest in the pieces you already know and love. If you have a great pair of shoes that you love, but are looking a little outdated, it's totally ok to take them to a cobbler to get them repaired. Sometimes it's cheaper than buying a brand new pair of shoes.
Do branch out to new brands. You never know what you might like from stores you never really gave a chance.
Now for the don'ts...
Don't waste your time with fast fashion. While it might be tempting to buy into all the trends and inexpensive clothing, they don't last long because the material is cheaper and it usually lasts for a season or two.
Don't buy something just for one occasion. When we do this, that piece of clothing sits in the back of our closet and becomes a memory of the day. Of course, we can always make exceptions to this "rule," but you'll start to notice that the pieces we buy for an occasion are never really worn.
Don't underestimate the power of bargain shopping. Poshmark, consignment stores, and a few thrift shops sell very high quality pieces. They take some time to find, but once you do it is so worth it! Be sure to check for quality and look at the tags to ensure you're not getting any knock offs.
Conclusion
Although it takes time to perfect your fashion styles, it is 100% worth it once you do. Getting dressed in the morning is so much easier when you look in your closet and are happy with what you see.
Take some time to make Pinterest boards, writing down styles you love, take inventory of your current closet favorites, and be honest with yourself.

Happy I found this blog post. I’m definitely going to go through my closet cause I don’t feel like I have a uniform put together, but I feel like my style is casual. Maybe leggings and a plum white T should be my go-to
