Hello friends. Does anyone have a quarantine morning routine? If so, I’d love to hear what your routine is like in the comments below.
A few days ago I published my first Youtube video about my quarantine morning routine- yes, my FIRST Youtube video. Ahh! So exciting. I have been wanting to make a Youtube video for years and (like most people) was terrified. I was worried about what people would think of me and how my blog would transition to video. So silly. If I’ve learned anything about being in quarantine it’s that life is way too short and we really have no idea what tomorrow will bring. So, if I want to make a youtube video today, I am making a Youtube video. 🙂
The video got me thinking about how important it is to have a morning routine – especially these days. It is so easy to get into the habit of waking up late, scrolling through Instagram, skipping breakfast, and staying in sweats.
Practicing a morning routine is great for productivity. It sets the tone for the day and helps form new habits. Almost every blog post and article touches on this point.
There’s no “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to a morning routine.
YOU create what sounds good for you. If you like making coffee before making your bed – GO FOR IT! If you prefer blasting music and having a dance party – AMAZING. I am very envious of your morning energy.
My morning routine is just an example of what happens each morning for me. 🙂 I posted my first Youtube video to inspire you to also create a morning routine.
My morning routine explained:
8 am – 8:30 am Recently I have been getting up later than usual, but my goal is to rise between 8 and 8:30 am. As soon as I wake up, I brush my teeth, scrape my tongue (I read somewhere it’s a good Ayurvedic practice…), and pee, of course. I hope everyone pees.
After, I get dressed so that I feel ready for the day and I ALWAYS make my bed. It makes me feel like I’ve completed a task for the day.
Around 8:45 – 9:45 I head downstairs to make a cup of coffee. I always look forward to making coffee. I go to sleep thinking about my cup of coffee the next morning…
If I feel like eating something at this point, I will make some toast, oatmeal, or a smoothie.
I take everything outside (it has been so lovely out recently) and read my book. Currently, I am reading Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid. It is really good so far.
9:40 At this point, if I have not eaten anything, I head inside to make some food and start working for the day. I will grab my computer and head to the kitchen table to write, work on my blog, or edit my next YouTube video.
“If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” – Steve Jobs
If you find that you’re lacking a morning routine, it’s not too late to start. Write a list of things you love to do in the morning, tackle the most essential, must-do items, and have fun. If something is not working for you, switch it up. It’s never too late.
Sending YOU so many hugs and positive energy. I hope you tackle your morning to the best of your ability.
XO, Sivan
Love It!!!!!! ❤
