Consider this your go-to guide to Instagram pictures in Downtown, Las Vegas.
It is no secret that Las Vegas has some of the best Instagram locations for your next Las Vegas Instagram post. Some of these spots are trending on Pinterest, Google, Instagram, and even Tik Tok.
Your Las Vegas Instagram game will be solid with these top locations Downtown. If you’re feeling a little lost or overwhelmed with Instagram, don’t worry!
Downtown is a perfect place to get started with Instagram pictures because it’s a little underrated at the moment. Although there are still tourists, it is not as busy as the Las Vegas Strip.
Busy places for pictures are not my thing because they can be way too overwhelming.
History of Downtown Las Vegas
Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort city.
It grew from a tiny railroad town to one of the country’s fastest-growing metropolis cities. Las Vegas is most famous for its large hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, the shows, and nightlife.
A Mexican scout named Rafael Rivera was the first non-Native American to encounter the Las Vegas Valley.
The area was called Las Vegas which is Spanish for “the meadows” since they found spring waters and wild grasses.
There are many places you can check out Downtown, but one of the most popular sites is the Fremont Street area. Fremont Street is open 24-hours between Main Street and Sahara Avenue.
Fremont Street was one of the first paved streets in Las Vegas in 1925. From here the city received its first traffic light in 1931.
5 Las Vegas Instagram Spots (Downtown)
Downtown Las Vegas has some of the coolest murals, buildings, and street art you can find. I come here for all colorful Instagram posts and you should, too.
After reading about these five must-see Instagram locations Downtown, check out Las Vegas on Instagram for more ideas on where to shoot next.
1. Downtown Container Park – This outdoor park is home to a giant praying mantis sculpture, as well as bars, restaurants, and local shops. There are slides and other games inside to let your inner child play and a little outdoor amphitheatre for concerts and movie nights. Look around the outside of Container Park, and here you will find parking lots with colorful murals.
Around Downtown Container Park, you will find very colorful walls with beautiful murals. Also, check out the local bars and restaurants around this area for more photo spots.
2. Fremont Street – Like mentioned above, this is one of the busiest streets downtown open 24/7. Check out their website for COVID information and their new safety procedures. Take a picture in front of the Plaza Hotel (so many colorful lights) or other famous hotels such as the Golden Nugget, Golden Gate, Four Queens, or the Fremont Hotel & Casino.
You really can’t go wrong showing off the Las Vegas lights and famous Las Vegas hotel names.
Along Fremont Street, you will find more colorful murals.
3. The Neon Museum – If you’re looking for FREE places, this is not it. However, if you’re trying to take in the Las Vegas experience, there is nothing better than visiting old Las Vegas signs. So many cute Instagram photo opportunities here.
4. The Arts District – This is the heart of art and culture in Southern Nevada. The arts district is where I love to get a lot of my Instagram pictures. There are so many colorful walls and murals around this area. Also, check out Arts Square and the area around 1st and Main.
5. The Empty Club – This is another trendy Las Vegas Instagram location. Located on Fremont and Sixth Street is an empty mirrored room of a former lonely gas station. This place came to be from graffiti artist, André Saraiva. You can find his other work around the Downtown area. Just peep the cartoonish winking smiley face.
Instagram Captions for Las Vegas Posts
I found this blog post with some of the most creative Instagram captions for your next Las Vegas Instagram post.
Some of my favorite captions include:
“City of Lights, Smiles, and Memories”
“What happens in Vegas, I’m telling everyone” -Dane Cook
“Man I really like Vegas” -Elvis Presley
“Meanwhile, in Vegas…”
“Shiniest place on earth”
Where to find Instagram inspiration
A great place to find more Instagram inspiration is through Pinterest and Youtube.
I have created many boards (secret and not so secret) for Instagram inspiration.
I’ve created boards for posing, locations, props, captions, etc. When I go out to shoot, I look up my different boards to spark some inspiration for Instagram, and I feel ready.
Visiting my Pinterest boards is way better than going into a shoot blindly. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with people around me, the location, and my props. I can get into my head, and it’s no Bueno.
Another tip is to search on Youtube for Instagram tips.
There are so many creative creators out there that give constructive advice. Youtubers walk you through their entire process from getting ready, shooting, and editing. I find myself watching these types of videos the night before my shoots, and it gives me a lot of inspiration.
Remember to be your creator and use all of these tips (from posing to editing) as a guide.
Don’t be a copycat and put your twist on things. Everyone wants to see YOU and what YOU bring to the table. Use inspiration as a helpful guide to what you want to create and remember, you will become an inspiration to someone else, too.
Props for Instagram Pictures
Props are such a big deal these days for Instagram. I wish I knew who started this whole prop trend because it is absolutely genius.
Sometimes, it’s nice having something to hold or look at when taking a picture.
There is nothing worse than going out to shoot and saying, “what do I do with my hands?” Throw a heart in the comments if you agree!
9 props are some of my go-to’s when shooting:
Flowers
Jewelry
Backpacks
Balloons
Mugs & Cups
Blankets
Plants
Books
On another note, a very random hashtag I just discovered is a thing called book face. If you want a laugh, check out this trending hashtag on Instagram. People put half of their face to a book and it kinda…works?! #bookface seriously look it up. It’s great.
To wrap things up
Downtown has some of the greatest spots to take Instagram pictures. Walk around the Fremont area and get creative with the colorful walls and your props. Stand as close as you want to the wall for some detailed shots, or stand in the street with the mural behind you.
Use Las Vegas History as facts for your Instagram caption and use the lights from the Las Vegas Hotels to your advantage.
Don’t be shy and remember everyone is taking in the sites downtown.
I’d love to see your pictures. Leave your @ below.
Have fun ♥
