The Mob Museum in Downtown Las Vegas is a must-see!
Why did I not do this sooner?
The Mob Museum, located in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, is one of the coolest museums I have ever seen. It is dedicated to the history and stories of organized crimes in the United States. The building opened in 1933 as the U.S. Post office and Courthouse – Uh, that is so cool!
Did you know that Las Vegas got its start in 1905 and is still considered a young city?
The self-guided tour in this museum starts on the third floor, where I got to watch a short video on organized crime. I’ll be honest, I was a little skeptical about this museum in the beginning. I wasn’t into learning about mobsters, but now….I wouldn’t mind watching Goodfellas or Bugsy.
Does anyone want to have a movie-mobster-marathon with me?
The museum starts out a little slow with lots of information, but keep an open mind and have fun with it. Get through the beginning and it is FUN after that. Every guide I spoke to said they have done the tour numerous times and still find something new about these notorious mobsters. Oh, and you should know….the museum does not leave out any details.
So if you’re like me and ask a lot of questions, everything will be answered when you are at the Mob Museum.
